Hi and Welcome!
My name is Erin Enzweiler and I am a licensed mental health therapist (LPC-Intern) as well as a licensed registered dietitian/nutritionist (RD). Why should this matter to you? While there are many therapists/counselors, and many dietitians/nutritionists, I am one of a very few qualified professionals who have merged these two fields into a single practice. Being both a psychotherapist and a dietitian, I have long realized that our relationship with food is much more than just nutritional. It is also emotional, social, and cultural. Helping you to bring these elements into balance is the essence of my practice.
Often, people associate food as being the source of their self-dissatisfaction because the focus has been centered on the shape of their body, their weight, or their eating disorder. Yet, the problem is much more complex than just food, alone. Food can be a symptom, distracting us from the deeper issues we struggle to handle on our own. As your therapist, we will work together to help you explore your feelings and the underlying reasons for why you use food to deal with complications in your life. As your dietitian, I integrate my expertise in counseling with practical information to guide your understanding of food so that you can trust that you are capable of nourishing your body.
